Go to cold truck camping sleeping pad?

Lost horizon purchased. I’ll send back my roll up memory foam I ordered

Smart man, you'll wonder how you ever survived prior.

For guys wondering about size:

Here's a pic of it rolled up on top of a standard gear tote. Weighs like 7 pounds, and squishy so it usually gets stashed between other gear as a space filler in the truck.

I've got the Exped Megamat, very comfortable. The biggest improvement I ever made was building a platform to get the mattress away from the steel floor of the truck bed, they suck heat away from you like a magnet. 3A150452-BCE7-433D-9879-4459F08FEC04_1_105_c.jpeg

Exped Megamat but like @Sand Wrench, I’m sleeping on top of some plywood with a layer of thin carpet. I put a blanket on top of the Megamat and bring an extra sleeping to pile on or block drafty areas. It gets cold if your feet get near the tailgate at night. I’ve spend many mid 20 degree nights in comfort this way.

Thank you. That's pretty big but it's still smaller than my "princess mattress" as my wife calls it.

A trifold foam futon mattress. If room permits it can't be beat. Now that I am getting older, I will double two of them up and sleep better than I do in my own bed. I usually have them all set up in the back of my suburban before I leave on a trip and it works like a poor man's sprinter van.

For truck camping idk why you'd use a backpacking pad.

I use a LOSTHORIZON self inflating 4.5" foam/air hybrid mattress from Amazon and it has been one of the best purchases in a long time. 100% as comfortable as a regular mattress. R Value of 13.

I use it on a cot, or in the back of my 4Runner or pickup bed, rocks everywhere.
Ok. Looking at Amazon. Whats the difference between all the models they have? Other than width. I look at two different mattresses that seem to be the same size and they have different prices.

I stack two 3" memory foam queen size mattress pads. Cover with a sheet. Sleep in two cotton bags, zipped together, and add a 6" loft 900 down queen size comforter if necessary. It's car camping. Luxury rules.

A friend of mine bought me this back in 1986 at an Army Surplus store for a $1.50. It’s been the best thing I’ve ever used for truck camping. It’s quiet and warm.
