Do you guys know if anyone makes gluten free dehydrated food? Wife wants to start coming with me but has a severe gluten allergy. Thanks

Hit up REI, as they have several different brands that cater to the minority market (veg, vegan, cruelty free meat, etc.). I could swear I saw some that were labeled gluten-free.

Might make note of which items from each brand are GF and then shop around. You can get reasonable deals on dehydrated entrees if you look. Glad your wife will be joining ya, look forward to hearing about your adventures together.

Ya me too. She's hunted with me before but not mtn hunting and that was before we had kids. Now that they're old enough to stay at grandmas for the weekend I can't wait to get her out!

Becca, thanks for the info... I have severe gluten/wheat allergies as well. I have been able to bring an assortment of food that is gluten/wheat free but it is usually on the heavy side.

Check out pack it gourmet. They make gluten free meals, I have a sever allergy as well.

Also if you have a food dehydrator you can make your own dehydrated meals. They don't take very much effort to make. If you need gluten free recipes pm me and I can get you set up with some.

I know REI has a pretty good line of food that I think is gluten free. Or some of them are. Don't remember for sure. Its a woman's name in the name of it. They're made in Moscow, ID. The local co-op here has the same stuff and you can buy it in bulk there.

Ya, our REI has them still too I believe. I've never tried them, but the ingredients look good and some are gluten free... http://shop.maryjanesfarm.org/store/c/40-Meals.aspx

Just bought a few GF meals from REI last weekend. All the major brands have a sticker on the from of them if they are gluten free. There must have been a dozen or so choices at our local REI.
