I will have to call around. We don't have many Marine supply stores in UT that I know of. Home Depot has it in white, but not really wanting white.

I replied to your pm.....the black stuff is very hard to find as I mentioned ordered it on amazon. The white stuff is everywhere, even some walmart marine sections have it

Just wanted to update that I used the 5200 on my boots and it worked great. Was even still a little tacky opening morning when I went trudging through the snow and didn't affect anything. Best part is it blends right in and you can't even tell I used it.

So my Herculiner rubber rand repair has been holding up great this year... but I was out of Herculiner and needed to redo a section on my left toe cap that I initially screwed up. Out came the Accraglass bedding gel and black dye! :) Degreased the area and applied the bedding compound. Needless to say it's like have a steel toed boot on my left boot and is holding like a champ. Just gotta get creative!

haha that's funny.....glad its working for you. i just have a hard time with the rubber rand already deteriorating on a $400 pair of boots on the first season, not what i expected. at least there is a way to somewhat maintain it i guess. i have been holding out on repairs but not for much longer

I've never had a pair of boots that had a rubber rand that held together for any length of time... this mainly comes from hanging around the campfire too much and trying to dry them out. I've talked with boot shops and guess how they release the rubber rands for repairs? Yep, a heat gun to heat up the glue. The boots I've gotten the best life out of to date were a set of Irish Setter "Elk Hunter" boots that lasted me 3 years of Idaho hunting with LOTS of trips on them. Full tough leather construction and were a very solid pair of boots.

I'd fix those boots before they come apart more. It would piss me off too but being stubborn and ending up needing to break in new boots in the middle of the season would suck.
