Globe sight crosshairs

I did not like the sight crosshair inserts. I just got the 0.19 fiber insert today. So far I like it. Going to shoot it this weekend and see if it makes and difference at 50 yards.

Sorry all circling back around to this. I cleaned the sites with acetone a few times. Applied a good white primer and then applied the glow in dark paint with brush..need a better way to apply it maybe one of those little model car air spray guns..it gummed up a lot of the sites. Still works but does not look "professional". Sorry to revive an ancient thread but how did this work in practice? I’ve heard of guys painting them white or pink but never glow in the dark (maybe I haven’t looked hard enough)

It worked pretty good was better than white..key is to apply with spray vs brush..I will improve this year with spray.

You mean like an HPLV gun? Do you recall what paint you used? Get a chance to use it in big dark timber this year? That’s my biggest concern. I went through all the same highs and lows of using the crosshair, being impressed initially, then realizing it’s useless in the heavy timber that covers 99% of western Washington. Thanks for the reply and apologies for the barrage of questions

Why not just use the .019” fiber optic insert?!

If you want to see something interesting, take the insert out and shoot it with just the surround. If you concentrate on the middle of the middle.....you can shoot impressively well. I now use the smallest post that lee shaver makes.

I have that one as well but at greater distances the post covers up the animal to much...if I know I am hunting in an area under 75 yds.this is what I use..further I use the crosshairs with glow paint.

Or smaller like a hobby airbrush. I used it in some dark timber in colorado and it was better but not perfect. I used it in eastern US in early morning hours stand hunting and it worked decent as well...would be amazing if someone would make a super thin fiber optic crosshair that would fit in the globe.

The .019” is damned small and IMO well suited to most sub-175 yard timber shots. Pair that with the crosshair insert if you want to.

I found that the 0.019 fiber optic covered more of the target than I’d like even at 100 yards, and I shot very poor groups. But as I’m typing, without having done any real load dev, I’m getting well ahead of myself. Will slap a scope on it and find a load (T7 and bore drivers) that shoots well, then revisit the sights. Will likely experiment with both fiber optic and painted crosshair.
