I need a new glassing tarp. Also something light enough it just stays in the pack for SOL situations. Especially going into late season. My old Rabb has seen better days. And I really don't like the funky shape of it.
Also now with my kid I need something probably 10x8 that can cover us both.
What happened in CO the past few weeks has really made me think just how important carrying an extra pound or two can be.

I want a SG for the weight and wall guy outs. Out of stock. Argali is a solid brand. Love mg 4p. Out of stock.

So looks like it's a Seek DST. Any other good options? Hilleberg maybe?

I have not used this one but have been eyeing it.

I have a DD Tarp that I keep in my SHTF kit. It is very solid and has tons of tie outs for many configurations. You can find the 3 meter by 3 meter for 70-80 bucks on amazon. Not sure what weight range you want to try to be in.

I am also really curious about the Caribou Montana tarp, seems it could be a useful design with the extra tie outs and a more compact size for glassing, but maybe less useful for sleeping shelter... But I cant find reviews from anyone who has used it... Even on sale it costs what a 9x9 borah gear is so maybe I'll go with Borah to match my bivy from them. Tired of the stretch from my DST making it saggy so Borah is silpoly which shouldnt stretch as much...

Happy to hear experience of anyone using the Montana tarp though. I have their little hunters tarp in my kill kit for setting meat on and it is great for that...
