I received a Kuiu glassing pad as a gift, so I’ve used that for a few years.

I use a kneeling foam my wife had for gardening, cut to fit. Light,warm, cheap and fits in to compartment and protects spotting scope

Get a Turkey Hunting Neoprene Pad for $10-15 cut it down to the size of your butt. It is the best insulating, cheapest, pad out there and your A$$ will thank you after several full days of glassing.

I use a semi-firm to firm neoprene pad (2” thick) that is maybe 16”x 14”. I’ve used that for years. Cheap and fairly light weight.

Klymet inflatable, Therm-a-Rest closed foam but the king is the Helinox Chair Zero. You're better off just getting the chair!

My Crazy Creek chair is my favorite luxury item! Nice to have glassing in camp and pair it with my 3/4 length sleeping pad at night.
Of course the little cheap foam gardening pad is always a good choice as well.

cheap gardening knee pad foam vote from me. Mainly because it was already laying around and not getting used in the fall. All good options though. Anything is better than nothing

Thermarest Z Seat here, light enough and comfortable enough to do what I need it to do, plus the price point is just right to where if I lose it or tear it up I can easily replace it.

It was me, and I have used one 4 years but that as long as I could get out of it.

I got a couple of these but was unimpressed. They were super lightweight, but the foam density is very light. It degraded and lost its loft quickly. I moved on to the z rest and have been much more impressed.

I got this for free and got a second one for $8 for a friend via link ad in YouTube video. We both used them religiously as butt pads during recent bear hunts, roughly 11 hours a day in a ground blind.

I used the same Tyvek cloth that I use as a base tarp for my Seek. As long as you run in through the wash a couple times it's super quiet, durable and weighs nothing. Not for comfort, but good for keeping snow/dirt off.

I use the kuiu pad as it slips in between my frame and pack, or since I got the orange can double as a signaling or safety panel strapped on the face of the pack.
I’ve also used the gossamer gear 1/8” foam pad which when folded is my ass pad, but can be rolled out for a napping pad or layered under my sleeping pad to add r value. It weighs nothing

I have a few z seats but they are now relegated to fair weather day hikes- they are compact and light, but pretty sparse real estate for sitting.

I’ve gone back to a length of regular z- rest pad- I use one that is 40” length (20” width), it’s just long enough to cover my torso in a pinch if needed and folded in half (20”x20”) it’s plenty roomy, comfortable and warm for glassing
