Glassing pad options

Anybody tried the peax glassing pad?
It’s the same as the Sthealthy Hunter glassing pad (they bought it from Ryan Lampers). I’ve got one of the early ones from SH. It works fine. But I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s limited in the number of uses.

My favorite pad is the Gossamer Gear Thinlight folding pad. It’s half the weight of the SH, and far more versatile. Great for sitting, you can lay it all the way out to take a midday nap on it, it folds easier than the SH to make a rear rest, it can be used as a wind barrier for your stove, it’s obviously additional insulation and padding under your inflatable air pad…

I’ve also used the Zpacks ultralight one and it’s just too light. And I’ve got a thermarest z-seat. It’s really nice, but the Thinlight is more versatile.

One other sitting pad that I want to try is the ultralight version of the Lobo Triple S pillow from LSWild.

How are you packing that thin light folding pad? I just got a new pack and am figuring out my system.

I ran the cheap Amazon one for a season. For that price, I would grab a few. Not very comfortable for long periods of time and not very durable. Worth a couple of bucks for an option.

Use a lightweight stool. Gets you off the ground which has many potential benefits.

But if set on a pad, use a cut z-lite pad. Can fold up for more cushion, lay it flat for naps, rest for a shot, mat on the ground for taking a shot on rough ground, etc.
I don’t care for a stool, I usually can’t find a flat enough spot. I cut a z-lite pad in half and it folds up and fits between my frame and pack nicely.
