I like lighted nocks and have always used the inexpensive Amazon models. Quality arrows are expensive enough as it is, so I can’t justify buying two dozen name-brand lighted nocks which don’t seem any better than the off-brand. Also, I suspect the deepower and other generics are made in the same factory as luminock etc.
That said, I gave them up last year. For my vertical bows, I wanted a lighter, sub-420gn arrow. I never saw a problem with flight or trajectory or nock pinch, but I have a long draw and long arrows (31 inches), so cutting weight involves trade-offs. Adding 16gn at the tail end required loading up weight at the front for the right FOC.
On my crossbows, name-brand lighted nocks flew fine on an older, slower Tenpoint but on my newer model (425) I just couldn’t get them to land as consistently and in tight groups. Without them, I hit my own bolts at 60 yards. With them, the groups spread out to 4 inches. So went without them and found a bolt after I used it right next to the blood trail.
Everything is dialed in without lighted nocks for this season, but if I can bring myself to accept heavy arrows or buy a set of rip xv next year, maybe I’ll go back with the vertical bow.
