Do hunters piles into Gillette on Oct 1st?
Do I need advance hotel reservations? or it's easy to get a room on Oct 3rd?

We stayed in Gillette at the Candlewood Suites in 2018 around that timeframe. It wasn't full of hunters, but it was full of oilfield workers. It may not be as bad this year with oil prices like they are though. I'd book ahead just to make sure.

We booked a room at the Super 8. It was cheap, like $60/night. We're prepped to camp a few nights if we find a good mule deer one evening and can't make a move on him.
