Ha! No 1lb a day. One mtn house for supper, 5oz, then oatmeal with peanut butter for breakfast, trail mix, Clif energy blok, snack bar during the day. This trip I did 2800 calories a day and honestly it was a chore to eat it all. Cutting back to 2000, if I get real hungry there's plenty of ptarmigan.
I roll with almost the exact same approach. I have yet to eat all my food on a hunt, I just don't get that hungry out in the mountains. Just started eating a breakfast of oats, powdered milk, vanilla protein, and kashi cereal...500 cals and weighs like 3oz dry. Gets me through most of the day, slap a 5 oz dehydrated meal on top with some snacks in between and you're gold!
