Getting blood stains off leather boots

Anyone have a trusted technique for removing blood stains from leather boots? Have lowa hunters, and had a pretty successful day filling the freezer. One boot got doused pretty good. They need to be treated, and wanted to try and clean up first.

I just use warm water and a soft bristle brush.

use cold water. warm or hot water will set blood stains.

same thing with game bags, towels, sheets, shirts, etc.

Hydrogen peroxide. Easiest way to remove blood. It just bubbles away
