Any thoughts on this new product from Gerber? Looks stout, 440C main blade, D2 work blade, easy to clean, easy to find in the dark.

Appears intriguing, but I'm not finding many reviews or tests on it yet.

Thoughts?

He’s such a likeable guy. They did a podcast on it. Sounds like a great knife for the right guy!

They have only been available a short time. I handle the DTS and the EBS . I ended up buying the ebs , it is lighter ,has the dirty work blade, and a flexible backstrap blade plus a regular work blade and can be resharpened . I just felt the dts was bigger and heavier then I wanted.

Both look good, and he’s such a good dude you can’t help but want to support him. I’d go ebs

I have a DTS and used it on a deer that was hit by a car this summer. Worked great. Highly recommended

And yes I had a carcass tag from the local police and wildlife offices

I heard that podcast too! I think he's a great dude too, and really think it's amazing how he spent 3 seasons trying to perfect that blade, however, the china blades feel cheap to me. For such an "American" vibe that Randy gives, I really thought his knives were going to be more premium like the leather fixed-blade gator knives that he's always talking about.

I have the EBS and it is OK. I have processed two whitetails with it. Blades came super sharp but did not hold up great. The edges rolled and chipped a bit. Soft metal that was easy to file back down so it works. Was worth the money and I would expect the DTS to be comparable.

I have tried a couple of Gerber's over the years and never could get them as sharp as I like. They always look and feel good but the steel was average. Stopped buying them.

I bought the ebs last fall and used it on four animals. I really like the overall design. I did not find the blades to retain their sharpness very well though. The ability to change out blades and resharpen them is pretty cool and the little blade box is a nice touch. I will keep it for a lightweight serrated option but will probably pick up another replaceable blade or fixed minimalist to do most of my cutting.

Looks like a mini version of the old Kershaw blade trader
