I make a bunch and freeze them before the season. I have had them in my pack for almost two weeks and eaten them out of a zip lock bag. But that's just me???

When it's cold out I wrap them in tinfoil and heat them up with a fire or stove. Good shit!

The bacon has never gone rancid? Or were you just to hungry to care?

I really don't remember it being bad. How it usually plays out is I go out for 3-5 days come back for a day. I do this for most of the season. If it's still in my pack I leave it for the second or third go around, some have been there awhile before I get to them. HAHA, eat at your own risk!

I make a similar sandwich with peanut butter, honey, cheese, and bacon. I cook them, toast the bread then vacum seal them and freeze them till I go out. I ate some that had been out of the freezer and in my pack for two weeks and all was well.
Last year had them for a 10 day hunt and this year had a few left over from my first hunt so took them on the second and they were fine. They look funny but have a lot of calories and are decent tasting. I figure enough sugar and salt and processing in the bacon that its all good.

Gotcha. I do bagel, PB, bacon, and banana. The beauty is they work well as a seat cushion. Maybe that's where she got the butthole reference!

I have eaten stuff I found under the seat of my truck that had been there a couple weeks but risking food poison that far back doesn't seem fun.
