I'm doing a Florida gator hunt, in the Everglades.

I'm doing it on a whim... with a guide. Not sure what to expect.

Anyone ever do one before ??

Why Florida? I would suggest Louisiana. If you are not locked in a hunt I know a good gator man in La. Not only the gator hunts but a look inside Louisiana Cajun culture. Hunts in September.

I hunt almost every year. And if I'm not drawn I usually take friends that did draw. What info are you looking for? Here's a picture from the year before, my partner from work. 10'7" not sure on the weight, but the two of couldn't lift it out of the boat and we both dead lift over 400 pounds. Keep in mind the best eating size is less than 8 feet.

Several outfitters along the TX coast too...I shot one with my bow a few years ago, added a little more excitement to the hunt. I second that the meat is great, make sure you have some one process it that knows what they’re doing. The fat is darn near inedible so got to make sure it’s done right.
