Garmin Watch - Time to Connect?

Curious how long it's taking your Garmin watches to connect to GPS for fitness tracking?

I have a forerunner 55 and when I select Run I get a prompt "wait for GPS". This prompt takes 5-10 minutes before it connects so I can track my runs or other workouts. My wife's apple watch connects in 3 seconds for any workouts for reference. I'm curious if some of the more expensive watch models have this issue or if they connect any faster?

The new connect app update has issues Bluetoothing my watch to my phone, that I haven’t figured out yet.

Every now and then, I connect my watch to my computer to do software updates. Maybe you need to do that?

I will say Garmin’s CS has been well above and beyond anything else tech related I’ve used. Give them a call.

I had to have my phone forget the watch and reconnect to Bluetooth with this recent update

Had an Instinct 1 and now an Instinct 3. Both connect in seconds.

I just click go on my Instinct3. If is slow with the satellites it just updates info later. St least that’s what I think is happening.

Fenix 6 the only time it takes a bit to acquire satellites is if I’m in heavy tree cover or next to tall buildings.
