I see Camofire has the Mini for $299 today, is the Mini 2 worth an extra $100?
I'm not particularly worried about battery life as I will be mainly truck camping and can charge it daily if needed.

Based off the initial reviews, I’d buy the new version if I was in the market for a satellite communicator. I don’t think there’s enough difference to justify upgrading if you already own one. You’re going to pay quite a bit more than the 100 dollar difference after selling a used older model. But the faster processor, better battery life, and better Bluetooth experience is definitely nicer features for only 100 dollars difference.

I agree. I have the mini, after reading about the upgrades for the gen 2, they weren’t enough for me to upgrade from what I already had.

I can't speak on the mini 2, but I have the original Inreach and accidently left it in my backpack pocket while the pack went into a whirpool tub to get cleaned. It sat in there, submerged, for about 16 hours. Pulled it out and it still works to this day. Shout out to Garmin!
