Garmin 60csx

I just picked up a Garmin 60csx off of Craigslist for my first backpack hunt.

Reviews seem to be pretty good, but is there anything I should be aware/concerned about?

It's a good solid unit. I had one for a long time before switching to Gaia gps on my phone.

You'll enjoy it I still use/take mine all the time for battery life is pretty long. I leave it on when I'm hiking. It doesn't have color that is the only 'draw' back of it that I see from the newer GPS.

I haven't installed a 'chip' in it though but I know others have.

It's a great gps. I've had mine for about 6-7 years, using it daily, with no problems. I have considered getting a new one with a color screen, but I really can't justify it. I will say the labeling on the buttons do wear off. However, I've been told Garmin will put new buttons on if you send it in, a co-worker of mine did and Garmin took care of it.

I have had three of them. I scratched the screens on the first two, so get a screen protector. They do work very well with landownership chips.

What HvyBeams says is also true, get a screen protector. I have one on mine.
