Gardens

That's not a garden that's Heaven.
Thanks. I’m in the process of redoing a bunch of it with big cedar raised beds and shifting part of it into an orchard. Keeps us in the vegetables.

That's a lot of work.
Mine is limited to asparagus, tomatoes, peppers and arugula. And a scattering of weeds
Keeps me pretty busy but canning season really kicks my butt.

Oh yeah, probably have 20 or so tomato plants, a row or 2 of green beans and Kohlrabi and a row or 2 of pickles and cukes. Onions are in. Asparagus patch is about done (25 years old), will dig it up and replant next year. Pretty simple this year. Got lots of perennials though. Sage, rhubarb, thyme, oregano and a few others. Hope to see some wild shrooms coming up shortly, mostly morels and oysters. Our late season massive snow storm a couple weeks ago set me back a couple weeks.

Thems some nice looking gardens! My growing situation is ugly this year, hope to get some stuff planted by this weekend and covered here (in the coulee region) before I meet the ortho surgeon next week!

Hadn't had a garden in about 4 years (since we moved here). Broke down and bought a tiller for my tractor and made a spot this year. We've already got apples, peaches, cherries, plums, and pears. Plus blueberries, black berries and raspberries.

We have chickens as well, and should get bees again next year.

Small garden, asparagus (anybody want some), peas, raspberries and blueberries, carrots, beets, herbs, etc. Tomatoes and peppers in the greenhouse. My wife does most and I help.

Yes, but not that nice, and spread out more.
My soil temp just hit 50 so mines just starting to grow

Those pics are from over the years. We aren’t nearly that far along yet this year. I used to use a lot of row covers to get things in the ground sooner and extend the season here in North Idaho.

I really think they shine in the early season. Our day length is long enough now to get things growing it’s just too cold for most things and we still get frosts and snow.

By middle October our day length is getting to be ten hours or less and things just don’t grow as much as survive. Keeps the spinach and chard and such going well into Dec/Jan or until I get tired of fighting the snow trying to collapse them.

I am not doing so well with the gardening this week. Have not even come close to planting anything yet (I usually wait til Ma's Day). Yesterday my Ma wanted to help with chores so I pruned off last years tops in some flower beds and gave her a rake and let her have at it. She will be in agony in a few days from old injuries, shingles, and arthritis, when I have to give her meds. It is like having a 4 year old run around the yard while I do my chores. Took me 4 hours to change oil on my car and generator...........I believe this is why God created marijuana!
