Finalizing my gear for this year. I brought gaiters to Southwest Colorado last year and never used them. What do you guys think about a central Idaho elk hunt in late September? Would you bring gaiters? We will be below or near timberline roughly 5k to 8.5k.

I would absolutely bring them. The little extra weight is worth having them as an option in case..... If you don't have them you'll probably wish you did

I get what you're saying and that's why I brought them to Colorado last year. I was just wondering if anyone had experience in that area and if they usually bring gaiters.

Nope
Where I have hunted in central Idaho it can be wet in late sept I would definitely bring them. and a rain jacket.. Or I have sprayed the lower pant legs , above the knee and down, with never wet and it worked pretty well for one season. I used the original never wet , not the outdoor and fabric stuff.

I would. They are light/small enough that they don’t take up much room. Better to have and not need.
