I found this bull two different years. The fist year, he had 2, 3 foot spikes. This is the one side I found the next year. (6 point 150" shed for size reference) What would cause a big bull to only grow giant straight spikes? Genetics or an injury to the nuts I figure. What's your funkiest elk shed?

I stumbled into a bull one time with 3-4 ft spikes. I could have shot him but I was in the middle of crossing a spikey log and was trying to keep from perforating my legs and crotch. The bull stood and watched with a smile on his lips. Just as i cleared the tree he took off. I have never seen another.

This is my weirdest. I was told that an injury to the opposite side of the body can cause a deformed antler

Not mine, but a buddy found this while I was blood trailing. I stepped on it and didn't notice somehow. Love to see him on the hoof. For a western WA Bull he's a stud.

This one hadn't shed his antlers yet(I shot him.) but it's still very funky. It's a 5x2 and the side with 2 points did not have anything broken off and it didn't appear to have been damaged as it was growing. It completely appears to be genetic and I can say pretty positively that it is. A few years later I saw a slighly older larger bull with the exact same antler configuration in this same unit. I haven't seen anything like it since though.
