Started using tinkercad at work, it's awesome exactly what I need as a barebones let me get my brain working in 3D. once I feel I have outgrown using shapes to make stuff I'll jump back to fusion and utilize more of the tools available.

Recently bought a used QIDI X-Pro 3D printer and have been messing around with TinkerCAD.

Decided to revamp my trekking pole tripod adapter and made up a mount for my outdoorsman bino adapter along with a quick switch plate and lens cover for compact spotter

Also made a window mount for smaller optics (no 4lb spotters allowed on my windows)

Everything was printed with PETG so it should last for a long time and be fine with outside / rainy conditions.
Is this the one you bought?
QIDI TECH 3D Printer, X-Pro 3D Printer with WiFi Function, Dual Extruder, High Precision Double Color Printing with ABS,PLA,TPU Filament,9.1x5.9x5.9 Inch, does 470 new on amazon sound about right? HAHA darned you!! Now I may have to pick one up.

Yup that's the one, if I were buying new I would probably go with a different printer though. I got this one because it was used and local. The ender and prusa printers seem to be the ones that are more popular on a lot of the YouTube videos I watched. Also, when looking for spare parts in my area, no one seems to list the Qidi tech printers specifically but I think most of the parts are pretty standard.

gotcha, I appreciate it. I was messing around looking at them a month or two ago, curiously. Maybe I'll take this a step further. Thank you so much

I use an Ultimaker 2 and for designing I have Autodesk Inventor Pro. I use solid works at work on occasion but prefer Inventor if I had to pay for it....which I did.

A few other things I’ve designed and 3D printed. The chamber cooling fan is really slick for days on the rifle range. The arrow saw has been great. Probably cut 3 dozen or more arrows with it. Plenty of more stuff somewhere.

Alright, I'm about a week and a half into 3D printing. Here's my contribution:

bow clips.

I've been messing around on TinkerCad a little each day and drew these up with the intent of giving myself options for when I'm in a public land tree stand hunting whitetails (i.e. no spikes, hangers or hooks can be inserted into a tree).

My design will be revised slightly, but these seem to do what I'd hoped. I'll probably print at least 4 more so I can have them strategically placed on my packs' hip belt, and on the molle on my treestand pack.

Made up a couple bino harness suspension straps similar to the FHF gear straps for hooking up a harness directly to your pack straps. Printed the buckles and bent up a couple gates out of stainless welding wire for the G Buckles to help support the weight.

Whats a good 3d printer that one should look at when getting into the game. Few hundred dollar budget.

That's a really cool idea, at least for something that's not too heavy, have you tested them with loads? What do you print with, any special filament? This got me thinking about ideas for adding attachment points to test things before making a finished version.

I use PETG filament because it doesn't degrade in water and is UV resistant. I didn't really test it under load because it is only for holding my bino harness and my swaro EL's.

Makes sense, I'm still having a friend make things if I need them, I'm eyeing picking up a printer but have enough projects to tinker with that I've been avoiding jumping in just yet.

I'm new to CAD and to make it more complicated my machine is a Linux build. I've been trying FreeCad and my first design was a digiscoping adapter for my bausch and lomb elite 15-45x60 so I could use my outdoorsmans adapter. Basic design but I couldn't figure out the pocket holes so i cut those out with the dremel. Have yet to test it outside the house yet.

Dig it!

I'm waiting on a new roll of filament. Once it gets here a digiscoping setup is the first on my list. I think I'm on the 3rd or 4th iteration of that design (using TinkerCad).

Good luck with it. This is the 2nd iteration but the 3rd print of that iteration and I had to "adjust" it quite a bit for it to even fit. But at least now I know what my final measurements need to be.

Late to the show here, but some impressive builds! Now I'm thinking that my 9 y/o son needs a 3D printer for Christmas... you know, for the kids!
