Free floating a B&C stock

Couldn’t come up with a better title, sorry.

For those of you who have a Bell & Carlson stock on your Remington 700s, have you taken out the pressure pad in the forend?

If you have, does it keep the parallel stockline, or does it make the stock line tip up?

I’ve taken some exaggerated photos with a spare barrel and stock I have laying around.

It will be fine, I have done several Remingtons and Weatherbys with the B&C stock. I also bedded them at the same time and recommend doing so, but it is not necessary.

not saying this is the right thing to do but it’s what I did.. I've shim and bedded mine.. done several without issue
