noticing when priming large primers as the primers begin to seat into the pocket the case cants. primers do seat easily, and are seating under the case head, but seating slightly crooked or canted. even with no primer as the rod guides up to the primer pocket the case cants slighty. any fix for this? they arent sideways or anything. its just enough to notice that theyre crooked. i have contacted frankford arsenal, but havent heard anything back. i would just like to fix this and move on as i really like the hand primer.

Huh. So even without a case, the plunger on the priming tool is going crooked?

I have two thoughts, the cartridge holder may not be the correct size for a tight fit on the brass, or you may not be seating the primers in to the depth of the pocket which should level it.

Yea even without a case the ram isn’t centered of the piece is passed through with the thumb press that u press down on when changing shell holders. I also tried lee holders. It’s no better. I am certain I’m using the correct size shell holders. I’m loading popular cartridges. And the primers go in easy. I can feel when they seat as I don’t use the wheel.

If you put that crooked one back in there, seat it, spin it, seat it, and repeat, can you get it level?

Are you sure you have the right size plunger and case holder?

I haven’t encountered this issue with mine.

What I have seen online suggests using shell holder #10 with 7mm PRC.

Edit - other places suggest #5. I don’t know why there’s a different recommendation out there. May have been AI summarized slop for the #10?
