Franchi affinity 3 problems?

I have an older franchi affinity 20 gauge and it has been a very reliable gun. Was thinking about getting one of the new affinity 3 20 gauge waterfowl elites. I’ve seen numerous reports of them not cycling 7/8 ounce loads. My older affinity never had a problem with them and (in my opinion) any 20 gauge autoloader that won’t cycle 7/8 ounce loads is a no go. Anyone have experience with the affinity 3 waterfowl elite and specifically whether there were any problems cycling 7/8 ounce loads?

I have 3 of the affinity 20s. Two older ones for my girls and my turkey hunting and one of the new 3 models on cerakote

Bought two of the 3 used.

No issues with any of them. I like them better for the price than my 2 12 benellis for suee

There is no mechanical differences on the 1 vs 3. The ejection port is a little wider, bigger bolt handle and bolt release.

Dumb question but could the reports be form guys who didn’t break them in? When I got my first nice shotgun I was instructed to shoot a few hundred heavier hunting type loads out of it before messing around with trap/skeet loads.

I followed their directions and never had an issue with ~ 1500 skeet loads now out of the gun after a few hundred initial heavy shot shells through it.

I know very little about shotgunning in general though, bird hunting has always been more of an opportunistic/off season thing for me.

Possibly, I ran a few boxes of high brass loads through my original affinity before shooting any lighter loads
