Forged in the Backcountry Boxer Briefs – Initial Field Review

Has anyone compare these to the bomba’s boxers? Those are 92% modal and 8% spandex which is approximately the same material. The Bombas trunks have been the best I’ve found so far.

I was listening to shoot2hunt podcast today and they had Jay on talking about his socks he’s coming out with. He said something about securing a new shipping option to the lower 48 so hopefully shipping delays will be less in the future

I bought a couple pairs early into the release, have used them extensively on hunts and for work on the farm, they have started to hold onto smell now, just like any other boxer, however they are still incredibly comfortable.

I have the boxers and honestly don't love them. You need to follow the sizing chart very carefully as I think they run at least one size small compared to other US brands. I initially ordered XL and they were way small (I wear XL in every other brand), and then reordered XXL. They fit better but I still get just nasty waist band rolling on them. They just don't work for me. I have them in the rotation and will wear them until I use them up, but won't be ordering anymore.

Can’t imagine any underwear lasting longer than my under armor. 9” boxer jocks keep chafing away and I’ve owned pairs for nearly 15 years that still feel newish. In fact I don’t think I’ve bought any in 5+ years due to longevity. Hopefully they haven’t gone downhill.

I wear the Under Armour boxer briefs also for everyday wear and have some going on 10+ years as well. Great boxers for the money.

I ordered a pair of the Forged boxers and a pair of the socks because; A) I like trying new stuff, and B) I like what Jay puts out content wise and just wanted to support his brand. I like both. For the briefs, the fit is about right for me in a medium (I usually wear a medium in briefs), and they do breathe well. Wore them and the socks on a training hike this past weekend. The socks felt good also, not clammy, or too tight. The socks are not as padded as some of the Darn Toughs or the Stone Glacier socks I have but still felt fine.

Time will tell how long they last but they seem well made.

I originally ordered a pair of XL’s and found em to be too tight on my large legs/ass(6’ 2” 200 lbs). Ordered a couple of XXL’s and prefer the fit.
I tend to run hot and found em to trap heat it felt like, but now after maybe a couple dozen wash cycles they kinda feel more breathable(these are the camo print).
Personally, I’d prefer a normal side access fly, only because pulling the vertical fly downwards pulls the entire front of the waistband down under my belt anyways. I can just grab the waist band a couple inches higher up and go over the fence with a larger opening. Overall I like em and wear em regularly, but tend to favor my Ridge merino.

Yeah that’s what has been stated in recent podcasts. When you get them post back on how you like ‘em. I’ve started wearing mine more often to try and get the waistband to break in, and the rolling is not getting any better, probably worse actually. It’s a me problem, not an issue with the boxers, they just don’t fit my body correctly. Other than the waistband they don’t ride up, and the seat, crotch and legs are comfy.

I’ve got a few pairs of the forged boxers. They’ve been pretty great for me, but I can’t really say they’re better than the Sitka core boxers. Maybe a touch cheaper if you don’t catch the Sitka stuff on sale.

I don’t normally order stuff like this. But so far I think I’ll order some more of both. Still in the honey moon phase.

Underwear fit me well, I normally wear medium in about everything. The waist band dosnt bother me. I have never been a fan of companies getting fancy with the pecker hole/pouch area on underwear. These are good, nothing fancy and the piss flap works well at keeping your balls centered and not wanting to hug a side.

The socks seem very good. They are a cool sock, I wouldn’t describe them as a cold weather sock. As far as keeping cool and dry they work better than the darn toughs I wear daily. The jury is out on smell and holding up put so far I’m a fan.

Color me surprised but both the socks and underwear seem well thought out

Agreed here on the socks. I'm on day 7 of 1 pair wearing non-stop. Saturday and Sunday they were ran hard outside in the southeast humidity and I was dripping with sweat. This included hardcore running/sprinting for an hour + peak of the day heat outside mowing the grass.

They're impressive so far.
