Going with a short pic rail on fore end and needing to drill an extra hole as mine only has one stud.
Do you see any benefit of the longer one, does it offer more strength being further apart?
Come in 2" HS Precision, 2.5" B&C and 3" McMillian sizes where lengths are measured from the center to center.

I prefer the Seekins SRS 4 slot rail, i believe it's the 2.5" center to center. Also, iv'e gone away from drilling through the barrel channel and installing T-nuts .......... these days i bore a hole in the forearm and epoxy in a stainless flange nut ....or two if i can't use the swivel stud hole ..

Can you share what you’re using.
That’s one of my hang up,it’s in a stock they dont make or make replacements for so I can’t mess up.
Thanks

I like the 4.8” Area 419 Improved Pic Rail on my non replaceable stock!
Looks good and allows for a little more room to clamp into a tripod further back from the fore end. IMG_3415.jpeg
