Ford F-150 reliable?

I have three 150s and five 350s for work. Had a few EGR issues with two of the 350s that were covered under warranty, but (knock on wood) the 150s have been running flawlessly. One of them is about to pass the 300k mile mark. My personal daily driver is a 2022 eco boost 150 and I absolutely love it

From watching years of watch Wes work, Fordtechmakuloco, Pine Hollow and South Main Auto diagnose new car issues, my takeaway is if you live in the rust belt avoid Chrysler/jeep, if you live on a bumpy gravel road drive slowly or your new Ford or Chevy dash will go wonky. With any brand distrust the dealer service department, keep moisture of all kinds out of the cab, and don’t drive fast through mud puddles or you’ll be sorry.

For new Fords, Fordtechmakeuloco has the best long term review of an f150 and talks at great length about the strengths and weaknesses of it.

The antithesis is that fleet vehicles typically get routine scheduled maintenance and repairs. The average private owner may not drive the vehicle like a maniac but are also more likely to miss oil changes and neglect basic repairs and preventative maintenance.

Yes! Lol
They get treated like rental cars unless the company has one of those tracker gizmos that logs acceleration/deceleration.

We figured out the boss put trackers on all our new trucks, so we loved telling him we were taking a longer route somewhere just to get him worked up, then he’d see on his gps app we were just messing with him and calm down, but he never admitted to the trackers. Maybe all new fleet vehicles come with an app the owner can use to follow employees?

Guess it's hit and miss with fleet. I've worked for 2 gov't agencies and one private company all with fleets and they all got good routine maintenance. I even tried to buy one truck that I drove for a few years after it got decommissioned and went to auction.

I never had an issue with my 2016 Ecoboost version, over 135k miles

I am on my 4th F150 in a row. I generally run them up to 80K or so. 2014, 2017, 2020, 2023
I have never had a single one in the shop for anything!
Probably should not have verbalized that but dang they have been awesome.
My only major bitch with Ford is you have to buy up to a Lariat to get 4WD Auto

While in 4 auto, the truck drives around normally in 2wd (rwd) until the tires slip a certain amount, at which point the truck automatically engages 4wd. It then drives in 4x4 for a bit then automatically disengages after the tires have traction again.
