Forbes Trigger

Wanted to see if anyone had replaced a trigger in a forbes rifle. Wasn’t sure if model 700’s were compatible. Thanks in advance.

I dropped a left hand 700 timney in my left hand 7mm-08 Forbes and have had no issues

Thanks man. I have a Timney in it, but don’t love the safety. It binds a bit sometimes. Considering a trigger tech.

Is it the factory “timney” trigger that came on the gun or an aftermarket? I tried a trigger tech and couldn’t hardly get the bolt to close for some reason

They will work but you'll lose the 3rd position, the one that allows it to stay on 'safe' and work the bolt. When mine had trigger issues, I sent the whole rifle to Melvin and he replaced a few parts. Total work and shipping from and back to Alaska was about the same as new timney trigger, btw.
