? For you guys that work up loads for your rifles.

If I'm working with a hunting rifle I load what it will hold and shoot a group as quickly as I can get settled shot to shot (it's a hunting rifle and I'll probably mess the first shot up) If it's a varmint rifle I slow down - I NEVER go to the range with less than 3 rifles to shoot so there is time for them to cool

I really like the cold wet towel method to cool barrels (SMACK !! "why didn't I think of that ??")

If you cap off a "fouling shot" to warm your barrel then you'd best add it to your group so you know if your cold barrel shot is true ? some are and some aren't
 
Agreed I want to know exactly how my cold clean barrel shoots. First shots are your most important while hunting and I think you really need to know pay close attention to your first shot of a particular load during your load testing. And more importantly retesting
