While I agree that we shouldn't be harassing elk on winter range, if I were on one of our many family hikes and came across a shed laying on the ground, I will be the first to admit I'm probably gonna take that out with me.

And that's what's so illogical about the reg......as long as you're not picking up any sheds, you can have as many people as you want out there doing whatever else it is that people do out there. Which is exactly why they "say" they put the reg in place.......to limit the pressure. But in order to enforce the reg, they'd have to have as many officers in the field as it would have taken to enforce their other reg about "harassing wildlife" in the first place.

Saw 130 elk Saturday, 20 bulls in total they were hanging out much higher in belly deep snow, Elk are looking healthy here.

Lots of ag fields, national grass lands and protection in the national park.

Easy boss, before you jump your high horse check ND law. Not illegal to shed hunt there. Nor was I suggesting to harass any elk. Good for you though.

I was referring to Colorado - thats where I took the pic and where I live

Another pic (cell phone )I took yesterday from my truck - half a dozen good bulls on public land still holding antlers.

They are still holding on here in central MT too. The deer on the other hand, looked over several hundred whitetail and a few dozen mule deer this weekend and only a couple small forkies were carrying antlers.

I am not sure, but I think thats an elk in the top left corner and a wallow underneath. Found it yesterday while escouting. Same pic on google, there is nothing there.
