Where do you carry your pistol (during non firearms season)? Hip, backpack belt, buried at the bottom? Any experiences wishing it was closer, or further away from hand or visual? Thanks

High Seas...sometimes with rum
On my hip; when I walk my arm is in front of it so it partially obscures it from oncoming people, but I'm also hardly ever on trails so I don't care too much about visibility.

No point in carrying a pistol if it's buried at the bottom, wtf.

I have a @razcogear holster that attaches to the bottom of my @fhfgear bino harness, love that setup! Razco is also a sponsor on Rokslide

It’s on my packs hip belt, but it’s in a Remora IWB with a clip. If I ditch the pack it goes to 4:30 on my belt.

I can easily block sight of it with my hand and it blends in pretty well.

Hip belt in Safariland ALS with molle adaptor. Going to town the gun goes in one of the ‘trigger guard on a lanyard’ type holsters under the shirt.

I use a Alaska Guide Creation holster attached to the belt of my backpack so it sits right on my hip

I really like the Hill People Gear Kit Bag (I use the runners model) when I don't have a bino pack on my chest. Since I'm usually carrying binoculars I just picked up the marsupial pistol holder to go below the enclosed harness and it's a solid mount. I don't have enough time using it to know how well I like it and I wish it was kydex like the Razco but it's not a bad option so far.

Another vote for the Kenai chest holster. I've tried several ways, this seems to be the most practical.

Equally big thumbs up for Kenai and AGC Guides Choice chest rigs under the bino harness.
Since ive gone chest rig for outdoors carry, I cant imagine ever going back to belt carry.
YMMV

Always on my hip. Rides below my pack belt and it's always there. Last year we packed in to camp and had just taken off our packs when grizzlies started roaring from what sounded like just behind the lean to. Never had to think where's my pack/pistol, just drew it and got ready. Chest holsters are a pain IMO, got too much stuff that needs to come off/on when changing layers as it is.

G29 - Razco that goes underneath Marsupial Gear bino harness. Which is great, because I can't wear a belt/holster with the current lower-back injuries I got going on right now. I have to wear suspenders for the time being until I can afford to get it worked on.

When it's non bear country, the Sig P238 cocked-and-locked in a DeSantis Nemesis pocket sticky holster, in pouch on the hip-belt of the pack. If drop pack then xfer over into my pocket immediately.

Kenai, Diamond D for chest rigs

Barranti for the Longhorn Companion, usually cross draw but they can be worn any way. One I had made with a snap on flap to protect more expensive or rare guns while allowing them to get field time.

My handgun came with a kydex style holster and a couple of different paddle attachments, I was able to weave the waist adjustment straps on my old 2200 through the holster and then my wife sewed it all together...it's hard to explain without a photo, but it's worked out really great.
