Haha I’ve had people ask that same thing. When im calling for someone on my gun we always just hold whatever distance, like 8” right. Haven’t had many issues, as we all know the size of a deer elk bear etc... but shooting on steel last 800 is hard with the 15 power, and the windage callouts are a challenge if we dont know the exact size of the plate.

Actually shipped off a maybe 35 year old VariX III since it showing its age... they gave me a brand new Vx3i 4-14x40 with the CDS and 30mm tube as a free replacement. Not bad in my book!?

I only have a few Leupold scopes but had no idea they suck until reading Rokslide . Guess I’m not hard enough on my stuff.

Leupold is like vortek....worst case scenario buy two per rifle so you have one to use while the other one is away getting fixed...for free with no questions asked...we finally had a leupold go bad before a hunt and it sucked. To be fair it has been on a .300 wby mag since 1998 when the gun was bought. So my F.I.L bought a new one. Now the gun has two so its not the end of the world....

I’ve got one of those from the early 80’s mounted on a .243 right now.
