Football fans???

I knew that the patriots had a tough battle against the chickens defense but I thought they would do better than they did.
After watching them go 3 quarters against the broncos and get gifted their only touchdown at the 15 yard line, I figured it was going to be a rough go against that Seattle Defense.

The AFC looked like a domino affect of failure. Bills should have beat the broncos, broncos should have beat the patriots(especially with a starting QB). Either way I still think the sea chickens would have won it all regardless. Just disappointing after an entertaining playoffs.

The Vikings have to be sick to their stomach right now.
Darnold, nah, we'll let him walk.

Darnold’s not the reason they won the SB, or even got there for that matter. Remember, Sam turned the ball over more than any other QB in the league last season…it was their defense that got them there and won it.

Thats true but he did have a hell of a game against the rams in the NFC championship. Gotta give a little credit there.

In regard to the SB though no doubt that defense won them the game. He just needed to play game manager.

Zero turnovers in the playoffs. He is the reason they won, and he would have surely gotten the vikings into contention. This is just cope.

They fired their GM for letting a super bowl winning, franchise qb walk after he offered the vikings a discount. There's no debate. It's a massive mistake that will haunt them till they find a guy.

I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree. Go back one more game against the Rams (week 11), and he threw 4 INT’s, and they lost by 2 pts. Time will tell, and I could be wrong, but when it’s all said and done, I don’t think he’ll be talked about much when his career is over. Just say’in.

Not to mention that his regular season success has been heavily reliant on having an elite receiver that he can hammer with targets. He has not shown great ability to spread the ball around and get other players involved. If he is going to be an elite QB, he'll need to put up big numbers when the Seahawks defense is being pushed and JSN is contained.

I think we agree more than we disagree, i was just stating that he played to the level the seahawks needed him to when it mattered most.

He definitely was not a MVP candidate for a reason.

Felt like it was the pats to lose more than it was the seahawks to win. Poor Maye looked like a fish out of water and just couldn't get it together. Doesn't help his LT kept getting his stuff pushed in. Vrabel didn't seem like he had it figured either. Pat's defense performed well all things considered. Darnold, though not as good, gives me the eli/giants feel. Good enough to be carried by the team. Not saying they are equals so slow ya roll haters lol .

You got info no one else did i thought the vikings offered the same money as Seattle but he had to compete with JJ for the job and went where he was the day one starter. The gm was fired for his horrid draft picks more than letting darnold walk.

We got to see what Darnold did when it mattered with a sub par offensive line last year. This year the line was worse so we squeak into the playoff get beat first round again and have a worse draft pick. The vikings werent going deep in the playoffs this year with almost any qb.

Maye and Darnold are pretty equal talent wise in my opinion. Difference is that Darnold is more mature of a player and Maye has Collinsworth as the head of his fan club.
And then there are the facts that Maye led the NFL in passer rating and barely lost out on winning league MVP. This was with a horrendous offensive line and with a washed has-been at WR1.

Darnold has done nothing without a pre-established elite WR.

What qb is a stud with a bad o line? Burrow, Allen, maybe PMH? And how far did they get this year?

A bad o line is going to severely limit any offense. Just look at Caleb Williams. Bad o line last year, very good one this year. Lots of picks to few picks.

But, it's far easier to fix an o line than get a franchise qb.

Josh McDaniels as OC has a lot to do with it. Defenses that over pursue giving him 30 square yards to scramble, common practice against new qb’s. Seattle only made that mistake once or twice.

I just don’t like his stance, too stiff like it’s practice. Also he might have a ton of yards scrambling but the kid runs like a three legged horse.

We got real tired of Chris’s affection towards Maye. How many times did he say he still has a chance? 🤦‍♂️
I do think these announcers are tasked with keeping the audience watching for commercials. Audience tuning out could alter revenue.

Man I must be the odd man out - I actually like games where Chris, Tony and Troy are calling - they may be hams but lots of insight

Brady had a stance like that as well. There is no longevity in scrambling. As he gains experience, he'll do it less and less.

For a 2nd year QB, there is little if anything to criticize about Maye. The Patriots just need to continue to build.
