I won't watch that chit show. We're headed out that day to the coast to dig razor clams. One of my favorite activities without being able to shoot something. Besides, if I see TS one more time we might be shopping for a new TV, so it's best if we leave home.

Which part of the ball is the chip in? I think an NFL football is 11” from tip to tip. If Josh got the first down, it may have been by much less than that?




I’m not opposed at all to technology spotting the ball. But if you’re going to really get it right wouldn’t you also need chips in knees and elbows and anything else that touches the ground to coordinate with the chip(s) in the ball?


Anyway, to think that’s the only play that would’ve mattered in that game if perfect spots were attainable just isn’t the case. Just four plays before that one Josh leaped for a first down on a sneak and fumbled it. The ball was lost at the bottom of the pile and recovered by the Bills. It’s quite possible the ball could’ve moved back behind the line to gain before recovery and thus it would have been a change in possession, not a first down. You can’t prove that with any review and no one on the broadcast even mentioned it, but with a chip/precise spotting technology it very well may have showed that to be the case. Plus, it damn sure wasn’t recovered exactly on the Bills edge of the 50 yard line. But that’s where it got spotted and made the sneak a few plays later that much more controversial because everyone considered the very front edge of the 40 as the first down.




At the end of the day Josh had 3 timeouts and 3:33 to go win it. He couldn’t do it. Mahomes is 7/7 in such scenarios in his playoff career (going for a tie or lead change in late-game drives). That’s why he’s got a chance at a three-peat.

Now that is just one possible scenario. Now I know there are going to be all sorts of, but what if question. My answer is, the NFL is worth billions of $$$, they need to figure it out.

Right on. I guess my pea brain read it as a single chip hidden somewhere in the ball. If the entire ball is covered in sensors and they can impose a 3D picture of sorts then you’re getting somewhere. Agreed, they should go for it, but just like replay I see some scenarios it still won’t clear up everything.

I like watching spring football, those guys have something to prove. Aside from that, I got to see the chip spotting in action, it is vary accurate, and kind of interesting to see used. Another idea the NFL got from the UFL, is the line up for kick offs, that idea sucks. The NFL needs to go back to the way they did it for many, many years.

No doubt the Chiefs with Andy Reid and crew have been phenomenal, but 3 of 4 Chiefs playoff wins over the Bills have been single scoring games. Every little thing in games like that matter.

I haven’t argued that it didn’t impact the game. It does every game. What I have argued is that it goes both ways and the missed calls that would’ve benefitted the Chiefs get little to no scrutiny.


I mentioned the wrong offside/false start call on the second Chiefs drive of the second half. Romo even pointed it out on the quick blip of a replay CBS showed. I haven’t mentioned the false start on the Bills left tackle on the TD at the end of the half though. No one in the broadcast mentioned it and very few have pointed it out since. If you slow it down he leaves earlier than anyone else, which has been a big topic involving the Chiefs LT, but he actually flinches just before leaving as well. That’s a missed call on a scoring play for the Bills.



Both teams were affected throughout the night, Josh still had a chance to win, and he couldn’t. Hopefully the refs are perfect both ways next year and we can see how it plays out a fifth time!
