Observations from the peanut gallery. (Disclaimer- I live in Fargo!)

The game was predicted to be a heavy weight battle. In the 2nd half it became one. It was a game where the 2 best players on their respective teams did everything within their ability (and will) to get their teams a win.

As has been mentioned. The Bison were not as defensively strong as they had been in the past. In this game, they tackled. (At times, something that was frustrating throughout the season.) The 4th quarter tackle of Bobcat running back did not happen in many games. Without that tackle, Bobcats would have regained momentum.

Especially in hindsight, the inability to convert Bobcat 4th down was big point in game.

Tommy Mellott scared me in 2021. He did in this game. Damn good and Bison have always had trouble with this type of quarterback.

For me, the difference maker between these 2 teams was Bryce Lance. Bobcats may have good receivers, but they don't have Bryce Lance. His play, especially in the last 2 games has been elite. With these last 2 showcase games, unfortunately I don't expect him to be with Bison next season. FBS/NIL will be too strong and pull him away. But I am thankful to have watched him play here in 2024-2025.

It was a clean game. (No turnovers) (A few stupid Bison penalties) Top notch offensive play. (The last 1st half drive by Bison was a work of art) In the 2nd half, Bobcats showed why they were top rated team and top FCS offense. 2 outstanding quarterbacks (and human beings). Unfortunately, one team had to lose.

Bryce Lance had a heck of a game for sure: couple of highlight catches! On the flip side, some easy, well thrown passes dropped by the Bobcats :(

Marcus Freeman may have awakened the echoes. I hope the Irish win it all but I'm afraid the Michigan loss has awakened the Buckeyes to another level.

I'm not an OSU fan but if they win Ryan Day should give the two finger salute to the fans who wanted him fired over the Michigan loss.

Should be a good one tonight. It'll be interesting to see if OSU can keep firing on all cylinders like they have the past 2 games.

If Ohio State can pressure with four like they have going to be the same result as the first two games. If they have to blitz to bring pressure Texas will move the ball and score. Can Ewers handle the pressure he's going to see?

How does Texas deal with the OSU wideouts? You can't cover them, have to get to Howard before he throws. They haven't seen a passing game like this. Over play it and the RB's will beat you.

Ohio State is the best team in the country when they are on. Will they be on?
