Football fans???

Why terrible seeding? Everyone be wanted 12 teams, likely going to 16. You are going to end up with a lot of SEC and B1G rematches. You can't seed it based on potential match ups.

Ducks were never the best team in the country, never have been, never will be.

Terrible seeding by the committee

Curious where you would seed an undefeated team that beat Ohio State and Penn State (as well as Boise State and a few other ranked teams)?

I don’t think the committee had much choice.

Ohio is a different team since the loss to Michigan. The annihilation of TN and OR was impressive.

Glad Michigan bested them!

I’m far from an Oregon fan, but Dan Lanning showed some legit composure and leadership yesterday in an embarrassing whooping. He was never pouting or yelling or pointing fingers. Even down 34 right before half when his guys were making mistakes he was coaching them and not throwing a tantrum. He coached and lead to the end.

Georgia feels like the only team capable of slowing down this Ohio State machine. Not sure they make is past ND today without Beck under center. The backup had 71 yards and an INT in 3 quarters of the SEC championship. He’s gotta be better than that being the Georgia backup, so maybe a bunch of practice reps have him ready.

Good shot we see all four bye teams eliminated in the second round. I stand by the fact they got the 12 teams correct based off the set criteria. Giving the top 4 ranked conference champions the first round bye was something that sounded good a few years ago when they drafted this plan and we still had a PAC12, Big 12, and decent ACC; but that now needs to be reevaluated and maybe changed. Especially if GA loses, there will also be a ton of talk about going 16 teams to eliminate the conference champs from having to wait a month between games.

I'm an Oregon fan living across the pond. I was staying up to watch the game and when it got to 31-0 I turned it off and went to bed but did not sleep easy.

If you cheer for the Ducks long enough you just get used to losing big games. I get a double whammy of big game disappointment being a New York Rangers fan too.

Always near the top but never at the top.

Oregon had the most spotless resume in the country, they earned a #1 seed whether they got there on the looks/feel test or not.

It seems like the committee did a good job to me. I criticized SMU vs the SEC near misses but those near misses went and lost their bowl games anyway so it's hard to keep that criticism in hindsight.

Boise and ASU proved they can compete and deserved to be in the show IMO but I'm not a fan of Mountain West and Big 12 champs getting an automatic bye unless they actually have a better resume than the 2nd best Big 10 or SEC team.. Kind of like how i'm not a fan of Vikings or Lions getting a 5 seed in the NFL playoffs this year.
