Foot care

As stated, good quality wool socks and broken in boots, I carry two extra pairs of socks and will change them around noon time and again in the evening, your feet will sweat even if think they don't also weather permitting, I will let my bare feet out for a bit to air dry, for hot spots or blisters mole skin. BUY NEW BOOTS BEFORE YOUR OLD ONES GIVE UP THE GHOST AND WEAR THEM A LOT PRIOR TO GOING AFIELD, BREAK THEM IN VERY GOOD. That way if they are going to be a problem you have time to figure out how to fix the problem or get another pair. Years ago, I had a pair of Remington sheep hunters that were miserable to break in finally soaked them in a bucket of water for about a week put them on and walked them dry, once dry used snow seal on them and wore them for the whole summer every day no matter what, come the fall they fit like a pair of bedroom slippers.

Got terrible blisters last year on a trip. Had to grind through a couple weeks of the pain. Will never leave without Leukotape again. Also added better insoles. The combo seems to have cured the feet issues. I also learned that breaking boots in on flat ground didn’t help much. I’ll get on a treadmill and walk at variable inclines the next time I need to break in a pair. Live in flat land so no hills to walk.
