I’m also a goat guy from Washington! I’m on the east side (tricities) we should put together a Washington goat guy rendezvous!

They have one every year. It's called the cascade packgoat club or something like that. They get together down near Trout Lake in September. I'll see if I can find the details.
September is a hard time for people like us who hunt.

I've done the NAPG Rendy and it was a blast. Hoping to go again this year. I highly recommend it. Sitting around a campfire with the likes of Marc, Dwight and several others who's names are slipping my mind but have a deep knowledge of goats is pretty special. Especially if you are fortunate to listen to Marc play his hand drum!!!

Yeah I can’t do September lol, we might go to the rendy this year depending on where it is and when but I can tell you it will not be because I want to talk to Marc.

Ok it's called the Cascade Packgoat club. They have a FB page. I don't do FB. It's more of a camp out than a Rendy.
I'd be up for getting together wet or dry side of the state with or without goats if anyone wants to talk goats.

How do you find Goat friendly trails by the way in the state? Would be cool to encounter a pack on a hike!
The most goat friendly trails are NO trails. I prefer to go where the animals make the trails.
This is what makes the goats special. They excell at off trails.

Word of caution. If you take your goats on people trails be very mindful of dogs. They will cause all kinds of problems with goats.
The second thing I caution people on is other people. You will be stopping because everyone wants to pet them and ask about them. When you are going the opposite direction as the other people your goats will see people walking away and think they are supposed to follow them. This can be a problem if you have several goats. You will need to hold onto them until those people are far away or out of sight.

I prefer to just stay away from high traffic areas.
