Thanks for having me. I found my way here researching gear, preparing to take more Western hunts. We escape Mardi Gras every other year to snow ski in Colorado; headed back to Crested Butte in ‘26. I’ve always wanted to hunt out West, but the timing has never been right with a young family. However, the time has arrived. My son is in 9th grade, and is physically able to carry a pack, and keep up enough to go. We are just returning from a week on a friend’s place near Chama, NM hiking and fishing. I signed him up and started purchasing preference points in Wyoming as soon as I got internet access.
My friend with the place in Chama (20+yrs) is a lifelong Western hunter, and lived in WY for several years recently. We are tagging along with him to WY in November as he attempts to fill 2 cow tags. Should be a good opportunity for us to get our feet wet.
So I’m here reading, researching, and shopping gear.
I’ve been a member of ArcheryTalk, Sniper’s Hide, and several others for many years.
