From Wisconsin, but came to NM for work. Definitely a lot to learn as this certainly isn't the rolling hills and dense woods of the Midwest where I grew up with whitetails. I was lucky enough to get a cow elk last fall, emphasis on the luck, but was a good introduction to western hunting.

Dense woods....rolling hills.....made me smile. I'm from Missouri, moved out to WA years ago but I go back to MO to hunt with family every year.

Bringing them all out here would be pretty crazy for hunting Elk. They'd be amazed.

Certainly wasn't climbing 1000 feet anywhere in WI, and a 20 gauge slug was more useful to me there than the .30-06 I use here!
