FNG From Virginia

Hi everyone, FNG from central VA. Do a lot of turkey hunting and whitetail hunting but going on my first trip outwest in October. Does anyone have a preferred/recommended way to shoot in the backcountry? I am looking at a Gunwerks Tripod. Not sure about rear rest/using bags/etc.
