Greetings from an FNG from the great state of KansASS. I’m a relative newcomer to hunting and got into it the last 5 years or so. I never had a mentor or anything like that and no one in my family is a hunter. Im trying to figure stuff out as I go, so I appreciate all the information on this board.

I’ll do that, thanks. I think my biggest thing is that I got started later in life and was starting from square 1 in my mid 30s; I mean, I had no experience, no gear and I had never even shot a bow…..real green.

I’ve done a hand full of elk hunts in Colorado but haven’t gotten to personally harvest anything yet.

Access/opportunity is an issue for me as well. KS is slim on public land as I’m sure your well aware. I’m going to start checking out some of the walk in access for white tail though and just keep trying to make things happen.

A few of us on here (@Joe Holden ) shoot 3D leagues out at Elevated Archery in Bonner Springs, KS. It 's a great group of guys to hang out with and a bunch of straight up deer/elk killers.
