Indiana whitetail hunter here! Just trying to dip my toes in the western big game scene. Just started buying points this year. Looking to go after elk, bear, sheep, antelope, moose, you name it lol. Whatever tags I’ll be able to get my hands on, or whatever opportunities I’m blessed with. I’m sure I’ll be posting questions in the forum leading up to hunts when I do finally make them reality. Nice to meet everyone!

Welcome, originally from just south of Indy and had hunting property down on the Ohio River left 18 years ago. According to my cousin the hunting has really went down hill.

What part of Indiana?
I got out of the Hoosier state as soon as I could. lol
Southern Indiana. Most of my hunting is done in Washington, Scott, and Jackson counties. Don’t blame you for leaving haha. I’ve thought of moving where more land and hunting opportunities are available. Ultimately work has kept me where I am.

I was in Central Indiana - basically at the corner of a corn field and a soybean field. Tons of deer though. Have hunted southern Indiana a fair bit, especially growing up.
I moved to the Ozarks where the topography is very much like southern Indiana/Ohio river area - lots of karst topography, limestone, caves and bluffs. The bottoms are just waaayy deeper and steeper and we have elk and bears.

As the self-appointed chairman of the welcoming committee, it is my privilege to extend a laurel, and hearty handshake (virtual, of course) to our new IN member.

Past few years our river areas and bottoms have been hit really hard by EHD. A lot of good bucks have been found dead by it unfortunately.

I got family in Missouri need lake ozark and also in Fairfax. I’ve considered trying to draw a tag for the area, but I’ve not read too much into how Missouri system works for nonresidents

Welcome. MO deer is OTC for non-residents. I hunt there every year on some property I still own. In some counties you can by 4 or 5 doe permits plus any-deer.

I'm originally from Evansville (live in Idaho now); welcome!

Hey, another Hoosier newbie! I just joined today. I doubt I ever make it out West, but have been lurking here a while researching optics and rifles I'm interested in. I'm around 75 miles south of Indy in Lawrence County.
