Sounds familiar. I was thinking of SE Montana/NE Wyoming myself. What sold you on Montana?

I think the ability to hunt Mulies in pre rut and rut was why we chose MT. Also- we have been bowhunting river bottom whitetails out there for a few years over in SW Montana, and just love the state. So we wanted to try something totally different with rifles. I bought a 6.5 Creedmoor i want to stretch out lol.

I'm new here as well. I live in Carroll County but I hunt GW&J NF quite a bit in Bath County.

Thanks. I enjoy it my family has been hunting Bath since the 70's. The fire really took its toll, but its still a great place to hunt. I go up every chance I get.

Sorry I missed this, I've hunted in the Palo Alto area of Highland for 25 years, both public and private land. Fished Highland, Bath, and over into WV for 35 years. I try to go to the hunters buckwheat feast in Bluegrass every year.
