Howdy all,

Long time lurker here and finally thought it was time to join the discussion. I’m a native Texan and have hunted Whitetails, pigs, turkeys and all the other feathered game that Texas has to offer for the majority of my life. Also, spent three years in Ohio chasing some absolute monster Whitetails, by Texas standards. Currently I’m living and hunting in Germany (wife is active duty USAF), plus a few other countries when the opportunity arises. I’d just like to thank you for the wealth of information that this community has provided, it really helped out with my Spanish Beceite Ibex hunt in the mountains last week. There was a massive amount of info to soak up about mountain hunting even for someone who has been chasing whitetail there whole life. Hopefully I’ll be able to add some meaningful input to the forum in the future.

Thank you. One thing I learned from this group and my first real mountain hunt is that a good, stiff boot is invaluable especially for a flat lander such as myself. Sure, I still probably could have harvested my animal with normal flexible soled shoes but good boots sure made the hunt more comfortable and therefore more enjoyable.

Welcome ! I’d love to hear some hunting stories from the mountains of Europe ! Post pictures of your Ibex hunt. They’re goats so please post your hunt in the goat section.

It was a great time. I'll try to get a short story up in the goat section next week.
