FNG from Cali

As the self-appointed chairman of the welcoming committee, it is my privilege to extend a laurel, and hearty handshake (virtual, of course) to our new CA member.

Most pigs are on private. If i get lucky ill see them on public but always out of range could never get close enough to get a shot. I mainly archery hunt
I hunt them on public, but with a rifle. I started hunting with a bow, I was exceptionally successful, but that came from scouting year round almost ever day. A hunting buddy of mine recently took a pig with his bow, on public land. I could have taken a few with a bow recently, at about 40 yards. But that is not the norm on public land. Thete are plenty of pigs on public lands. The problem is that the vast majority of public lands are not conducive to hunting to the degree private land is.

That is true. I see them on public and know the general location they are at, food they eat, to some of the small watering holes they drink. I could always bring my rifle with me for the best chance but that kinda defeats the purpose of archery hunting.

Its alot harder with archery but that makes it more exciting. Ive actually harvested 1 last year with a bow,
