There is a good reason you have not heard about elk hunting in Washington. It sucks. I hunt Idaho for elk. If you can draw one of the Big bull tags in the Blue Mtns or the Yakima unit you can get into some good action but other than that the archery season is 2 weeks and runs the first part of the month. Most elk holding locations in Eastern Wa, also harbor an awful lot of hunters. There is probably a higher hunter to cow ratio than bull to cow because Washington either has no clue how to manage for elk or they choose not to. There are some spots in western wa. that are good and if you know the area real well you can get into big bulls in the N.E. portion of the state but I can drive 30 miles into Idaho and be into elk. So I pay the price and hunt there. No complaints from me. You gotta pay to play.
