2000 seems a little much but I would support 500. I think that would get rid of most of the riff raff scammer types.

A higher post count restriction is not just about weeding out low effort scammers. A higher posting restriction would also help encourage people to learn who is active and who can be trusted.

I get the feeling that a lot of people who join in a hurry to catch a screaming good deal are precisely the most likely to get scammed.

FYI increased traffic, irrespective of the quality also increases the ad value of the forum, generating more revenue for the owners….


Everything is a balance. Too much one way and everyone would leave or no growth. Too much money only and quality will die and others will leave as well. It’s hard to complain about a free forum where we can choose to click or not on a post

500 postings seems a little aggressive. I'll be honest when I first joined it was solely because of the classifieds. Got kicked off Archery talk for messaging someone my phone number (which an admin posted that was a good idea) to make a deal on something. Came here for the classifieds, stayed for the information. Now ive got a headache and an empty wallet! But honestly I feel like ive been pretty involved and don't figure I have near 500+ postings. Maybe it's just me but I buy things on Facebook as well and feel like I see scammers all the time on there, and none on here. Regardless if someone joins for a screaming deal on something and is dumb enough to send money other than G&S then that's on them.

edit to add: I just realized your postings are counted as "messages" at this point ive got 73 postings and have been actively on this site probably daily since joining 4 months ago. The amount of useless posts it would take for someone to get to 500 seems even more ridiculous now.

@Reece123 I totally agree. I've been on here since 2020, mostly as a lurker, just reading. There's plenty to read.
A 500 post minimum would encourage me to make useless posts like "Yep", effectively doubling an already dreadfully long 47 page post about a scope that may or may not actually exist in reality!

25 posts in 5 years.... I'll make it to 500 in 100 years!

I may be new here, but not new to buying shit on forums. Id rather not classifieds be just a country club for people who spend all their time on this forum alone, that would dry up everything and just leave the "i know what i have" folks. I like what yall got here because of the obscure and hard to find shit someones just trynna get rid of

Across all the trading platforms ive been on for the past few years, i think all messages and transactions together probably aggregate to around 800, 200 of them being sales/buys. 500 is stupidly high bar to pass unless your terminally online arguing in every thread, or buying everything you see.
