I generally take the long drive but this year I am flying to my destination for a quick out of state hunt.

How do you handle scopes when flying? Leave attached and check with the rifle or pull the scope and bring that in the carry on?

I was not sure if the cold and pressure of the cargo area could damage anything with the scope.

Any feedback or personal experience good or bad would be great.

You put it in a GOOD case, and you shoot it to verify zero is still good after you get there. Don't skimp on a case if you're flying with any weapon.

Do not pull your scope. Leave it on rifle, have a decent case, it will be fine. Check zero when you get to or on way to hunting area. I fly with a rifle 7-8 times a year, never had an issue.

Great. I have a nice pelican hard case for it, so hopefully that is not a concern. Was more concerned with the pressure change blowing out any seals. Sounds like it’s not a issue.

Thanks!
