I have an Eberlestock Just One pack that’s 2300-4500 ci, I plan on trying to use this as my carry on with southwest. Anyone have a similar size pack they’ve flown with as a carry on? Or any issues they ran into?

It won't have much in it to make the size very big…. Just some optics and couple pair of clothes. Only about 15lbs total

I just flew Delta from MSP to Salt Lake and I had a similar size pack, Seek outside 4800. The attendant that was boarding immediately handed me a gate check ticket. We were on an Airbus (cant remember the type) and she said the frame wouldn't fit in the overhead even though I was able to fit it in the carry-on sizing template. I picked it up from baggage claim no problem.

I’ve carried on my MR Pintler with no issues, even stuffed with ~50 lbs of frozen meat lol

I’ve carried my Exo 4800 with lid off on domestic and international flights. Maybe 15 lbs total weight including bag. It was measured one time on an international flight.

It could go either way flying southwest. I’ve seen them allow oversize backpacks as carry-ons and I’ve seen them flag packs and make you check it.

Southwest has lost more bags than I can count. I quit flying them years ago and fly Alaska anytime I can.
